Zopf Bread Recipe
A traditional Swiss bread, soft and slightly sweet, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Main Ingredients
- 500 g All-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 packet Active dry yeast
- 60 g Butter, melted
- 300 ml Milk, lukewarm
- 1 Egg, beaten (for glazing)
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
2. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
3. Add the yeast mixture and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
7. Punch down the dough and divide it into three equal parts. Roll each part into a long rope and braid them together.
8. Place the braided loaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
9. Brush the loaf with the beaten egg and bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
10. Let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
