Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 3 cups Whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup Warm water
  • ¼ cup Honey
  • 2 ¼ teaspoon Active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil

Instructions

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the honey in warm water, then stir in yeast. Allow to proof until yeast resembles a creamy foam.
  2. 2. Mix in whole wheat flour, salt, and olive oil. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth, about 10 minutes.
  3. 3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in volume, about 1 hour.
  4. 4. Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it into a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan. Allow to rise for 30 minutes, or until the dough has risen 1 inch above the pans.
  5. 5. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
