Ingredients

  • 2 cups Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • ½ cup Sunflower Seeds
  • ½ cup Almonds, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 packet Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 ¼ cups Warm Water

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, sunflower seeds, and chopped almonds.
  2. 2. In a separate bowl, dissolve honey and salt in warm water. Sprinkle yeast over the water and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  3. 3. Pour the yeast mixture into the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. 4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. 5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. 6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
  7. 7. Bake for 35 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  8. 8. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
