Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Milk warm
  • ¼ cup Sugar
  • 2 ¼ teaspoon Active dry yeast
  • ½ cup Butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Egg beaten

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. 2. Add melted butter, salt, and beaten egg to the yeast mixture. Mix well.
  3. 3. Gradually add flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. 4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. 5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. 6. Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place them on a greased baking sheet.
  7. 7. Cover the rolls and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. 8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. 9. Remove from the oven and brush with additional melted butter if desired. Serve warm.
