Ingredients 

Starter

  • 1 cup Cornmeal
  • 1 cup Milk scalded
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar

Dough

  • 3 cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Water warm

Instructions 

  1. Mix cornmeal, scalded milk, and sugar in a bowl. Cover and keep warm overnight.
  2. Next day, mix starter with flour, salt, and warm water. Knead until smooth.
  3. Place dough in a greased loaf pan. Cover and let rise until doubled.
  4. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
