  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • ½ cup finely chopped onion
  • ½ cup cold butter, cubed
  • ¾ cup milk

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, poppy seeds, and onion.
  3. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in milk just until moistened.
  5. Turn onto a floured surface; knead gently 8-10 times.
  6. Pat or roll dough to ½-inch thickness; cut with a floured 2-½-inch biscuit cutter.
  7. Place 1 inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
  8. Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
