Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Rolled oats
  • 1.5 teaspoons Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1.75 cups Buttermilk

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, oats, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Make a well in the center and pour in the buttermilk. Stir until a soft dough forms.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead lightly. Shape into a round loaf and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Cut a deep cross into the top of the loaf with a sharp knife.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  7. Let cool on a wire rack before slicing. Enjoy!
