  • 4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup butter cold, cubed
  • ¾ cup milk

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold, cubed butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gradually add the milk, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently a few times.
  6. Roll out the dough to about ½ inch thickness and cut out biscuits using a round cutter.
  7. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Serve warm with butter or jam.
