  • 1 cup Rolled oats
  • 2 cups Boiling water
  • cup Honey
  • 2 tablespoon Butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Active dry yeast
  • 5 cups All-purpose flour

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the oats and boiling water. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. 2. Stir in the honey, melted butter, and salt. Let the mixture cool to lukewarm.
  3. 3. Add the yeast and 2 cups of flour. Mix until smooth.
  4. 4. Gradually add the remaining flour, 1 cup at a time, until a soft dough forms.
  5. 5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  6. 6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  7. 7. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place in a greased loaf pan.
  8. 8. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.
  9. 9. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown.
