Herman Sourdough Starter Recipe
This is a simple recipe to create your own Herman sourdough starter at home.

Starter Ingredients
- 2 cups All-purpose Flour
- 2 cups Water Room temperature
- 1 tablespoon Sugar
- 1 packet Active Dry Yeast
In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, water, sugar, and active dry yeast.
Stir the mixture well with a wooden spoon until smooth.
Cover the bowl with a cloth or plastic wrap and let it sit at room temperature for 24 hours.
Stir the mixture once a day for the next 4 days. Your starter will be ready to use on the 5th day.
