Ingredients

Dough

  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 packet Active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Warm water
  • ¼ cup Vegetable oil
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add oil, eggs, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually add flour, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Punch down the dough and divide into 4 equal parts.
  6. Roll each part into a circle. Layer the circles on top of each other, brushing with oil between each layer.
  7. Cut the stacked dough into 8 equal triangles, leaving the center intact. Twist each triangle to form a star shape.
  8. Place the star-shaped dough on a baking sheet. Let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
