- 4 cups whole wheat flour
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cups warm water
- 2 teaspoon active dry yeast
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
2. Add the whole wheat flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it on a baking sheet.
6. Bake for 30 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
7. Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
