- 3 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 cup Warm water
- 1 tablespoon Olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Sugar
- 1 packet Active dry yeast
1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
2. Add flour, olive oil, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
5. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
6. Punch down the dough and shape it into a flat oval. Place it on the prepared baking sheet.
7. Use a sharp knife to make slashes in the dough, creating a leaf-like pattern.
8. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Let it cool on a wire rack before serving.
