Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Warm milk
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • ¼ cup Butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ cup Bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. 2. Add melted butter, salt, and 2 cups of flour. Mix until well combined.
  3. 3. Gradually add the remaining flour, ½ cup at a time, until a soft dough forms.
  4. 4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. 5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. 6. Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and roll in bread crumbs.
  7. 7. Place the dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. 8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the pandesal for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. 9. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
