Ensaymada Recipe
A soft, sweet Filipino bread topped with butter and cheese.

Main Ingredients
- 4 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 cup Milk warm
- ½ cup Butter softened
- 2 pieces Eggs large
- 1 tablespoon Yeast
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup Grated cheese for topping
1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and a teaspoon of sugar. Let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
2. Add the remaining sugar, eggs, and softened butter to the yeast mixture. Mix well.
3. Gradually add the flour and salt. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
5. Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place on a baking sheet.
6. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
8. Remove from the oven and let cool. Spread butter on top and sprinkle with grated cheese.
