  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange zest
  • 1 unit egg beaten

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the dates and orange juice. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Add sugar, flour, baking soda, salt, and orange zest to the date mixture. Mix well.
  4. Stir in the beaten egg until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  5. Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
