Date Nut Bread

Main Ingredients
- 1 cup Chopped Dates
- 1 cup Boiling Water
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 tablespoon Butter softened
- 1 unit Egg beaten
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1.5 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 0.5 cup Chopped Nuts walnuts or pecans
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
In a bowl, combine the dates, boiling water, and baking soda. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
In another bowl, cream together the sugar and butter. Add the beaten egg and vanilla extract.
Stir in the date mixture. Gradually add the flour and mix until just combined. Fold in the nuts.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
