Main Ingredients
- 1 cup chopped dates
- 1 cup chopped figs
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a bowl, combine chopped dates, figs, and boiling water. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
Add sugar, baking soda, and vanilla extract to the date and fig mixture. Stir well.
In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
