Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cornmeal
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup Poppy seeds
  • ¼ cup Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Milk
  • ¼ cup Vegetable oil
  • 1 Egg beaten

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, poppy seeds, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, vegetable oil, and beaten egg.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
