  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, cornmeal, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the molasses and buttermilk to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
  5. Bake for about 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
