Instructions
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Add the buttermilk, cheddar cheese, and chopped onion. Mix until just combined.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead lightly. Shape into a round loaf and place on the prepared baking sheet.
Cut a deep cross on top of the loaf with a sharp knife.
Bake for 30 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
Let cool on a wire rack before slicing. Enjoy!
