Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 ½ cups Buttermilk
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Onion, finely chopped

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the buttermilk, cheddar cheese, and chopped onion. Mix until just combined.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead lightly. Shape into a round loaf and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Cut a deep cross on top of the loaf with a sharp knife.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  7. Let cool on a wire rack before slicing. Enjoy!
