  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 6 tablespoon Cold unsalted butter cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup Buttermilk

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Pour in the buttermilk and stir until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times.
  6. Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick rectangle and cut out biscuits using a round cutter.
  7. Place the biscuits in a cast iron skillet or on a baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
