  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ cup Cold butter cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • ½ cup Sourdough starter discard or active

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cut the cold butter into the flour mixture using a pastry cutter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add the buttermilk and sourdough starter to the flour mixture. Stir until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently a few times. Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick round.
  6. Cut out biscuits using a round cutter and place them on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
