  • 500 g Self-raising flour
  • 200 g Sugar
  • 250 ml Buttermilk
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 200 g Butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon Salt

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, eggs, and melted butter.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  5. Transfer the dough to a greased baking tray and spread it out evenly.
  6. Bake for 60 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Let the rusks cool completely before cutting them into pieces.
  8. Dry the rusks in a low oven (100°C/210°F) for 4-6 hours until completely dry and crisp.
