  • 3 cups Whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • ¼ cup Honey
  • 2 tablespoon Butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 ¼ teaspoon Active dry yeast

Instructions 

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the buttermilk, honey, melted butter, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Combine the wet and dry ingredients and knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes or until the bread sounds hollow when tapped. Let it cool before slicing.
