Ingredients

  • 2 cups Cornmeal
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Boiling water
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 packet Active dry yeast

Instructions 

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. 2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cornmeal and boiling water. Stir until well mixed and let it sit for about 10 minutes.
  3. 3. Add the milk, olive oil, salt, and sugar to the cornmeal mixture. Stir until combined.
  4. 4. In a separate bowl, mix the flour and yeast. Gradually add this to the cornmeal mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
  5. 5. Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet. Shape it into a round loaf.
  6. 6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  7. 7. Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
