Ingredients 

Bagel Dough

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. 2. Gradually add warm water and mix until a dough forms.
  3. 3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. 4. Divide the dough into 8 pieces and shape each into a ball.
  5. 5. Poke a hole in the center of each ball to form a bagel shape.
  6. 6. Let the bagels rest for 10 minutes.
  7. 7. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Boil the bagels, 2-3 at a time, for 1 minute on each side.
  8. 8. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  9. 9. Place boiled bagels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. 10. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
