  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups buttermilk
  • 1 cup shredded cheese

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the buttermilk and shredded cheese. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead briefly.
  5. Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on a baking sheet.
  6. Cut a deep cross on top of the loaf with a sharp knife.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  8. Let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
