Ingredients 

Dough

  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1.5 cups warm water
  • 2 teaspoon salt

Boiling

  • 2 tablespoon honey

Instructions 

  1. In a large bowl, combine the bread flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add warm water and mix until a dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add honey.
  5. Divide the dough into 8 pieces, shape each into a ball, and poke a hole in the center to form a bagel shape.
  6. Boil each bagel for 1-2 minutes on each side, then place on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool on a wire rack.
