Main Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1.5 teaspoon salt
- 1.25 cups warm water
1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add warm water and mix until a dough forms.
2. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
3. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
4. Divide the dough into 8 pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and poke a hole in the center to form a bagel shape.
5. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Boil each bagel for 1-2 minutes on each side. Remove and place on the prepared baking sheet.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown. Let cool on a wire rack.
