  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 tablespoon Butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 packet Active dry yeast

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, anise seeds, and salt.
  2. 2. In a separate bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk. Add sugar and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  3. 3. Add the yeast mixture and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. 4. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. 5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. 6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. 7. Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it on a baking tray.
  8. 8. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. 9. Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
